All Information about Boston
The Boston Winter Ball is an annual black-tie event that draws in young professionals, entrepreneurs and Boston’s premiere socialites to have fun and raise funds for a worthy local cause, the Boston Children’s Hospital and many others. The event was founded in 2009 by a trio of friends, who recently graduated from Boston College;Alex Bain, Michael Huffstetler, and Michael Kapos who wanted to put together an event where local young graduates could come together to meet and network in a setting usually reserved for older crowds. The trio was known for throwing very popular and successful parties back in college and wanted to continue the fun after graduation while raising awareness and supporting the local community.
When it was first created, the Boston Winter Ball drew in about 500 friends, co-workers and family members of Bain, Huffstetler, and Kaposand their close acquaintances. Since it was the first time, they were forced to sell the tickets for half-price, but it turned out they had nothing to worry about and they were able to raise over $7,000 for a cystic fibrosis charity.
Today, requests for tickets to the Boston Winter Ball come in earlier and earlier every year and the ball has become a prime event on Boston’s winter social calendar. With the success of the first event, Bain, Huffstetler, and Kapos got serious and began lining up sponsors and donors for the ball, and today the Boston Winter Ball has raised over $130,000 for charity. The event attracts a large number of sponsors who donate giveaway items, gift baskets, shopping sprees, silent auction prizes, and gift certificates to raffle winners.
